Me too XD;; Mostly cuz this chapter is so freaking complicated I should've been 90% done with it already but I got put so far behind cuz of 2 weeks worth of migraines that I couldn't draw more than like...1 page a day....which is pitiful...
2 weeks worth of migraines?! Oh my, I hope you're resting. Don't push yourself too hard. We, your loyal fans, totally understand if you need to post things late because of family/health related issues.
Not sure what started it for the first week, but the second had a lot to do with the sudden realization that my greencard expires on my birthday and that leaves me less than 2 weeks to get it renewed before I become an illegal immigrant by proxy and have to pack all my shit to move back to Canada, where I have nothing and no one. All the government stuff we're having to do all of a sudden, and the stupid shit I've done by accident ever since (I wrote 'copy' on the original document after photocopying it for my boss to prove I needed the time off, and then forgot the whole thing under my keyboard at work over the weekend) is just making me really super crazy ADHD. I draw like one page a night, 2 if I'm lucky. I just can't focus for beans. The migraines just make it worse.
Oh gosh no...I wouldn't have anything else to occupy the time even if I did take a hiatus. I'm just not as focused. I'm hoping that after Friday, things will be fine. I put in for a vacation the week after Spring Break so I can take some time to relax after all this is done. I think I might've just bit off more than I can chew with this chapter, too. There's a lot of stuff I'm having to design for the first time that has only just...kind of been nebulous in my brain until now.
Like, there's this house that Gabe and Ren go to, and I must've spent 8 hours just designing it, redesigning it and then finally figuring out the floorplan so I'd know what to draw inside. Ren's OverArmor for her 2-page flashback got pulled out of the void, too @_@ /dissolves into a puddle of blah/
I'm always in awe of writers/artists like yourself that can come up with a design from scratch. My brain just can't do it. It always falls back to whatever is familiar. To make a design that isn't based off something else is truly a skill. And I just love how much effort and time you put into this, it shows in the quality!
Psht, it doesn't stop people from assuming characters look like other people anyway. Half the comments on this image were hidden by me because it was someone arguing with me over the fact that he/she thinks the old guy there looks like Walter from Hellsing. The guy's been in the story before, in the prologue, and no one thought he looked like Walter then. Now I just feel like I have to redraw him again because the ponytail alone gives him a totally unintentional Walterish look (at least in the sketches... )
